The 5500-700 T2 Module Plug-In enables the 5500A Telecommunications Analyzer to test T-carrier systems operating at 6.312 Mbps rates (T2). The module provides two output levels to simulate the 6.312 Mbps signals found at both the terminal equipment and at the DSX-2 cross connect, as well as providing the capability to monitor the signal levels originating at both locations. The module operates with the T2 serial, bipolar (return-to-zero) pulses that utilize the Bipolar with 6 Zero Substitution (B6ZS) line code. In addition, the 5500-700 may be configured to provide AMI line code via switch selection on the module. The unit enables the 5500A to generate and receive T2 serial data streams, recover clock, and regenerate data from low level signals. The mechanical interface between the module and the system under test consists of Western Electric Company type 310 compatible jacks for transmit and receive.
